Top snooker tournament is to be sponsored by an online betting company

Dafabet will become the Masters Tournament 2014 sponsor

The most prestigious invitation tournament for US snooker, The Masters, will be under the sponsorship of Dafabet, the online betting firm, this season for the first time, the publication World Snooker reports.

Running from the 12th to 19th of January at Alexandra Palace in London, the Dafabet Masters will feature the leading 16 players in the world, among them World Champion Ronnie O’Sullivan, defending champion Mark Selby, Judd Trump, Chinese ace Ding Junhui, John Higgins and world number one Neil Robertson.

The competition will have a top prize of GBP 200,000 and should generate quite of action of excitement. It will be telecasted to the millions of fans of snooker throughout the world by the British Broadcasting Corporation.

The Masters Tournament was founded in 1975 and has an extensive history of snooker action of world class. The last season’s Players Tour Championship Grand Finals was sponsored by Dafabet and therefore it will be aware of the large global viewing audience reachable via snooker, and the awareness of the brand that this could deliver.
